The dummy tip is specifically designed for use when penetrating debris layers, ballast beds, or other extremely hard strata where there is a high risk of damaging the (piezo-)cone.
In such situations, the (piezo-)cone is replaced with the dummy tip to pass through the hard layers. The dummy tip is manufactured from hardened steel. It is highly durable and provides a cost-effective alternative to protect your equipment during demanding penetration work.
